Hey August!

It’s the first day of “Celebrate Me” month (dubbed by me of course) and if you know me you know that I LOVE a good handbag. I am even more in love with the fact that popular consumer handbag designers seem to have noticed that the 2014 woman loves form just as much as she loves function. With more and more everyday bag styles offering the ability to go from cross-body to shoulder to satchel and back again, the new mom, gotta-carry-everything-just-in-case, pockets are everything, purse-lover in me is practically leaping for joy as I browse the interwebs for my next everyday bag purchase.

Since I’ve somewhat got this mom-of-an-infant thing down pat, I’ve learned that I can navigate my quick errands with my little man in tow and a stylish, yet functional, handbag; as long as it’s large enough to fit a pamper, some wipes and a backup binky. So I’ve been on the hunt looking for the right ‘it’ bag on which to redeem my birthday month discounts (20% off for being born? Yes please!). I'm trying my best to narrow down my options (because Lord knows I don't NEED another bag), but I am a girl after all and nothing satisfies my need for conquest like a great bag find. Here's where my search has led me on day one:

1. This is my frontrunner! The Coach Madison Smythe Satchel is super soft, the perfect size for all my everyday must-haves and comes in a great range of colors. My favorite part is the ‘secret’ external pocket for your cell phone—or metro card if you live in the city like myself. The $358 price tag is a bit hefty for my mommy budget, but worth it if you can make use of one of those coveted Coach 25% savings invitations.

2. I have to admit that I already own this awesome bag in the Cream Multi, but I’m loving the Dark Grey. The Henri Bendel Jetsetter Backpack is by far the most genius and versatile bag I own.  It transforms from a backpack, to a crossbody, to a sleek satchel, and the plethora of pockets give me LIFE! I’ve worn this bag so many times and the compliments never stop coming.

3. I came across this little number by accident, but am not at all surprised that Marc Jacobs has once again slayed me with another great design. The Marc by Marc Moto Satchel is super creative, but the price tag will make it something that I will continue to admire from afar. A year ago, before daycare became a line item in my budget, I would have definitely convinced myself that I was worth the pennies for this plush purse.
